Exponential technologies are reshaping every aspect of our lives & disrupting every industry. The accelerating pace of change is unfamiliar & unprecedented. To some, this change is a threat; to others, it’s an opportunity; for most, it’s both… & we’re all struggling to adjust to this new state of dynamic equilibrium. The ultimate outcome will be determined not by the technology itself, but by human ingenuity, collaboration, & an explicit intention to try to make the world a better place.
Singularity University believes that by leveraging the convergence of exponential technologies we can create pathways to solve our Global Grand Challenges & shift from an era of scarcity to abundance.
There are twelve Global Grand Challenges (GGCs). In addressing each GGC, we solve for the following three perspectives:
Ensuring basic needs are met for all people.
Sustaining and improving the quality of life.
Mitigating future risks.
The GGCs are interrelated & interdependent. Each has an objective that is framed to describe the overarching end-state we feel is achievable—especially if we can count on you to take up the cause with us.
Through these GGCs learning pathways from Space Explorers Academy on CanopyLAB, futurist Roxanne Shewchuk will introduce some case studies to showcase technologies & perspectives that are helping to meet these challenges.
