CNSA Tiangong Space Station
Tiangong Space Station, also known as the Chinese Space Station (CSS), is China National Space Administration’s modular space station currently in low Earth orbit. The program represents a significant step in China's space exploration efforts, designed to support long-term human presence and scientific research in space.
Launched in April 2021, the core module, Tianhe ("Harmony of the Heavens"), serves as the main living and working area for astronauts (taikonauts). It includes essential life support systems, crew quarters, and facilities for conducting experiments. The station has been expanded with the addition of two laboratory modules, Wentian ("Quest for the Heavens") and Mengtian ("Dreaming of the Heavens"), which were launched in July and October 2022, respectively.
With a planned operational lifespan of at least 10 years, Tiangong hosts a variety of scientific research initiatives, including experiments in fields such as biology, physics, and materials science. The station's design allows for international collaboration, with potential participation from other countries and space agencies in research and mission activities.
